San Joaquin: Ordinance No. 4594 (Organic Waste) - solid waste definition

Highlights

The Board of Supervisors of the County of San Joaquin has published an Ordinance amending Division 2 of Title 5 of the San Joaquin County Code to:

  • update the definition of solid waste
  • incorporate updates to the requirements for the diversion of construction, demolition, and landscaping debris
  • outline information regarding organic waste diversion for single-family, commercial businesses and commercial edible food generators
  • provide that waivers for generators apply
  • set out requirements for food recovery organizations and services
  • detail information on licensed collectors, organic waste facility operators and self-haulers and
  • provide information on the California Environmental Quality Act.
