Highlights
 

The City Council of the City of Torrance has published an Ordinance amending the Torrance Municipal Code to:

  • exempt specific persons and businesses from the requirement to file quarterly reports, or to pay the California lntegrated Waste Management Act fee
  • outline the requirements for residential generators, commercial businesses, commercial edible food generators, food recovery organisations and services, self-haulers and facility operators 
  • waive the obligations of certain generators to comply with the organic waste requirement
  • require persons applying for a permit for new construction and building additions to comply with the CALGreen recycling requirements
  • require property owners, their building or landscape designers of construction projects larger than 500 or 2,500 square feet to comply with the Model Water Efficient Landscaping Ordinance requirements
  • outline the obligations of vendors providing paper products, printing and writing paper
  • empower authorities to conduct inspections and investigations in any waste management facilities and
  • outline the enforcement process and impose penalties for non-compliance with the provisions.
