Highlights
The Council of the City of Fresno has issued an Ordinance amending the Fresno Municipal Code, to:
- require that each local jurisdiction in the state divert 50% of discarded materials from landfills
- implement the City's AB 939 plan
- provide for the diversion of commercial materials from landfill disposal to reduce waste
- ensure the maintenance and protection of the environment including natural resources
- regulate the issuing of automated containers
- regulate the collection and disposal of solid waste for residential and commercial service locations and
- set out requirements for exclusive and non-exclusive franchisees.
