Highlights
 

The Council of the City of Fresno has issued an Ordinance amending the Fresno Municipal Code, to:

  • require that each local jurisdiction in the state divert 50% of discarded materials from landfills
  • implement the City's AB 939 plan
  • provide for the diversion of commercial materials from landfill disposal to reduce waste
  • ensure the maintenance and protection of the environment including natural resources
  • regulate the issuing of automated containers
  • regulate the collection and disposal of solid waste for residential and commercial service locations and
  • set out requirements for exclusive and non-exclusive franchisees.
