Federal: Correction to final rule- Significant New Uses of Chemical Substances; Updates to the Hazard Communication Program and Regulatory Framework; and Minor Amendments to Reporting Requirements for Premanufacture Notices
The Environmental Protection Agency has published a Notice correcting a previously published Final Rule that:
- revised the regulations governing significant new uses of chemical substances under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA)
- amended regulations governing Significant New Use Rules to address issues that have been identified by EPA and raised by stakeholders through public comments
- made a minor change to reporting requirements for premanufacture notices and other TSCA notifications.
In this notice, the EPA is correcting three of the amendatory instructions contained in the previously published Final Rule. These corrections concern Title 40 of the Code of Federal Regulations, part 721.11 (Applicability determination when the specific chemical identity is confidential); part 721.80 (Industrial, commercial, and consumer activities); and part 723.50 (Chemical substances manufactured in quantities of 10,000 kilograms or less per year, and chemical substances with low environmental releases and human exposures)
