Federal: Advance Notice of Proposed Rule Making Regarding Blood Lead Level for Medical Removal

Highlights

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has issued a proposed Rule under the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 to:

  • revise its standards for occupational exposure to lead based on medical findings
  • set out a list of some of the health effects of lead exposure
  • set out requirements for medical surveillance and management of lead-exposed employees and
  • require employers to provide blood lead testing to employees in the medical surveillance program at least every 6 months.

Interested persons are invited to submit comments before 29 August 2022, identified by the Agency's name and Docket No. OSHA–2018–0004, at the Federal e-Rulemaking Portal (www.regulations.gov).
