EPA Proposed Rule on the use of chrysotile asbestos

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has published a Proposed Rule under the Federal Register to:

  • address the unreasonable risk of injury to health it has identified for conditions of use of chrysotile asbestos
  • provide that the comment period for the proposed rule is extended to 13 July 2022 and
  • require that submitted comments on the online portal https://www.regulations.gov are identified by ID number EPA–HQ– OPPT–2021–0057.

Interested persons are invited to submit written comments on or before 26 July 2022, referencing the Docket ID Number EPA– HQ–OLEM–2021–0585, by:
