Federal: Clean Water Act Hazardous Substance Worst Case Discharge Planning Regulations; Extension of Comment Period
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued a Notice under the Clean Water Act (CWA), to:
- announce an extension of the comment period for the rule requiring an owner of a facility to prepare a plan which responds to a worst-case scenario for discharge of a hazardous substance
- propose to require planning for worst-case discharges of Clean Water Act (CWA) hazardous substances for onshore nontransportation-related facilities
- confirm that the comment period is extended to July 26, 2022.
Interested persons are invited to submit written comments on or before 26 July 2022, referencing the Docket ID Number EPA– HQ–OLEM–2021–0585, by:
