Highlights
The City Council of the City of Santa Ana has published an Ordinance amending the Santa Ana Municipal Code to:
- outline the administration process regarding solid waste management
- allow generators to sell or donate their source-separated recyclable materials and/or organic waste, subject to conditions
- outline the requirements for single-family and multifamily premises, commercial and industrial premises, commercial edible food generators, food recovery organisations and services, solid waste collection contractors, facility operators and self-haulers
- prohibit unlawful accumulations of waste and disposal of dangerous materials
- clarify that persons who want to receive the bin and roll-off services must engage with contractors with whom the city has an agreement
- require all construction and renovation projects to comply with the requirements of CALgreen recycling requirements
- waive the requirements for certain generators to comply with the organic waste diversion requirements, subject to conditions
- outline the diversion requirements for yard waste in landscaping contracts and
- outline the enforcement process for non-compliance with the provisions.
