Highlights

The City Council of the City of La Mesa has published an Ordinance amending the La Mesa Municipal Code to:

  • outline the requirements for single-family and multi-family residential dwelling occupants, commercial edible food generators, food recovery organizations and services, facility and community composting operations and self-haulers
  • waive the obligations of commercial businesses from the requirement to comply with the organic waste requirements, subject to conditions
  • clarify that property owners and their building or landscape designers must comply with the Model Water Efficient Landscaping Ordinance when constructing a new project with an area greater than 500 square feet or 2,500 square feet
  • empower authorities to conduct investigations and inspections and
  • outline the enforcement process for non-compliance with the provisions.
