Highlights
The City Council of the City of Alameda has issued an Ordinance amending Alameda Municipal Code to:
- set out requirements for the collection and removal of solid waste, recyclable and organic materials
- outline the obligations of single-family and multi-plex generators, commercial business and multi-family generators
- outline obligations for commercial edible food generators, food recovery organisations and services, self-haulers, franchisee and permittee
- provide a list of prohibited acts in relation to dumping and depositing waste
- outline the requirements for facility operators and community composting operations
- clarify that the City Council may enter into Franchise Agreements for the collection and disposal of waste
- clarify that all projects must comply with the waste management plans and
- outline the permit requirements for the collection and hauling of recyclable and organic materials.
