Plant Protection Act: (Fees and Charges) (Amendment) Rules, 2020

Highlight:

The Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Co-operatives of Kenya has published rules with effect from 29 April 2020 to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic that exempts tea, coffee, herbs and spices from requirements to pay certain charges for 2 years for certain inspections and phytosanitary certificates.

Public Order Act: (State Curfew) Variation Order, 2020

Highlight:

The Cabinet Secretary for Interior and Co-ordination of National Government of Kenya has published an order with effect from 17 April 2020 to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic with effect from 6 April 2020 that makes Kenya Ferry Services and its employees and officers engaged in transporting food supplies and other cargo exempt from the state curfew.

Public Health Act: (Covid-19 Restriction of Movement of Persons and Related Measures) (Nairobi Metropolitan Area) Order, 2020

Highlight:

The Cabinet Secretary for Health of Kenya has published an order to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic with effect from 6 April 2020 that applies the Public Health (COVID-19 Restriction of Movement of Persons and Related Measures) Rules, 2020 in the Nairobi Metropolitan Area and declares it to be an infected area.

Public Health Act: (Covid-19 Restriction of Movement of Persons and Related Measures) Variation Rules, No. 2 of 2020

Public Health Act: (Covid-19 Restriction of Movement of Persons and Related Measures) Rules, 2020

Public Health Act (Prevention, Control and Suppression of Covid-19) Regulations, 2020

Highlight:

The Cabinet Secretary for Health has published regulations to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, with effect from 3 April 2020, that require notification of suspected cases of COVID-19 infection, require businesses to obey directions from the Cabinet Secretary, and regulate the funeral arrangements for persons who have died from COVID-19.

The Public Order (State Curfew) Order, 2020

Highlight:

The Cabinet Secretary for Interior and Co-ordination of National Government of Kenya has published the the Public Order (State Curfew) Order, 2020 (the "Order").

Amongst others, the Order:

-establishes a curfew which applies to the entire Republic of Kenya between the hours of 5pm and 5am and
-prohibits public gatherings, processions or movement, except as permitted, in writing.

The Order shall remain in effect for a period of 30 days from 27 March 2020.

This notification has been included for information purposes only, despite the fact that the Order may not impose obligations on your organisation.
