The Government of Flanders has issued an order, with effect from 12 June 2020 to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, that requires that suspected cases of COVID-19 infection are notified by secure electronic message within 24 hours of the suspicion by medical personnel and establishes a centre for tracing the contacts of cases of COVID-19 infection.

25 MARS 2020. - Arrêté royal rendant obligatoire la convention collective de travail n° 147 du 18 mars 2020, conclue au sein du Conseil national du Travail, établissant un régime de suspension totale de l'exécution du contrat de travail et/ou un régime de travail à temps réduit en cas de manque de travail résultant de causes économiques pour les employés en raison de la crise du coronavirus [MARCH 25, 2020. - Royal decree making compulsory collective labor agreement n ° 147 of March 18, 2020, concluded within the National Labor Council, establishing a regime of total suspension of the performance of the employment contract and / or a regime reduced-time work due to lack of work due to economic reasons for employees due to the coronavirus crisis]
Highlight:
The Minister of Employment has published the Decree, which limits the duration of suspension of the employment contract.
When a company applies this collective labor agreement, the duration of the total and partial suspension of the employment contract may not exceed, per calendar year, the maximum duration of sixteen weeks in the event of total suspension of the contract and twenty-six weeks in case of reduced-time work arrangements.

Highlight:
The Minister of the Government of the Brussels-Capital Region, in charge of the Economy, the Climate Transition, the Environment, Energy and Participatory Democracy has published the Decree, providing for aid.
This aid consists of a lump sum premium of 4,000 euros for companies forced to close following the measures. These include restaurants and cafes, but also hotels and take-out restaurants that must close their dining rooms. These measures have been gradually tightened, now involving almost the entire retail sector, with a few exceptions for essential services.
