Highlights
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Marin has issued an Ordinance amending the Marine County Code to:
- prohibit the accumulation of any windblown solid waste, leaving solid waste for longer than 30 days, and disposing of waste
- outline the requirements for residential and commercial generators, self-haulers, and organic waste facilities
- waive the requirements for certain generators to comply with the provisions
- require persons to store solid waste properly in collection containers
- prohibit persons from managing solid waste without entering into a franchise agreement
- empower the authorities to conduct inspections and investigations in any waste management facilities
- require operators of solid waste management to maintain operating records and reports and
- outline provisions for the theft of recyclable materials.
